Hydro-Vacuum S.A. at the WODKAN and AQUA-THERM Fairs
In May 2013, Hydro-Vacuum S.A. attended two trade fairs as an exhibitor:
- 21st edition of the WODKAN International Trade Fair of Machines and Facilities for Water Supply and Sewage Systems, Bydgoszcz, 7-9 May 2013,
- the International AQUA-THERM trade fair, 14-17 May 2013, Kiev, Ukraine.
The WODKAN specialised fair is for operators in the water and sewage business. 75% of Hydro-Vacuum's products are designed for these businesses, and it is essential to participate in the event. Previous and future years show a clear decline in investments in the business, which is reflected in such events as WODKAN: there are fewer exhibitors (especially those from outside Poland) at the fair and there are fewer representatives who visit it. Each year, this fair in Bydgoszcz loses more of its international character and becomes more a local fair important to the Polish market only. However, since the Polish market is the most essential market for our company, it ensures our presence at the event every year.
For several years now the WODKAN fair has taken place in special marquees put up only for the trade fair itself (the total surface area of the marquees is 15,000 square meters), on an open space. The marquees are equipped with wooden floors, making it impossible for exhibitors to place large-dimension or heavy exhibits on their stands. For this reason, some exhibitors, including Hydro-Vacuum S.A., use both the area inside and outside the tent.
This year, Hydro-Vacuum S.A.'s stand covered 96 square meters inside the marquee and 12 square meters outside. It was one of the largest stands present this year at the fair. The design of the stand made a symbolic division of the area into 2 parts: the first to present the Water products and the second for the products for Sewage. The stand featured such products as GDC.4 and GCA.6 pumps (bronze, single-stage NHV and MV pumps), a new product: the MVL pump (a centrifugal single-stage inline pump for industrial waterworks applications), SKA self-priming pumps, multi-stage OPA, OPB pumps, ZHE hydrophore set, dual stream pumps. The products intended for pumping sewage included: TSA and TSB pumping stations, PSA sewage pumping station, PSD pumping station with fittings, ZSP catch sets, and FZ.3 pumps, and the FZ sewage pump family. Outside the tent were the FZ.9 and DHV pumps.
On the Hydro-Vacuum S.A. stand were employees from the Department of National Sales and Customer Service, Departments of Technical Advisers and Product-Market Strategy, R&D, and the Export Section, providing information for everyone who visited our stand. Most of the visitors were, as usual, people from Polish water works, sewage treatment enterprises, and construction firms as well as designers of water and sewage systems. Our team informed these visitors about our new products, including our single-stage MVL pumps, modernised deep well pumps from the GCA series, multi-stage vertical OPB pumps and the ZHB sets based on them, as well as ZHE sets based on stainless steel pumps, and a whole new range of FZ pumps.
The AQUA-THERM Kiev trade fair is another dedicated to the water and sewage business, but it is visited regularly by representatives both from Ukraine and the former CIS countries; the national and foreign producers taking the opportunity to show their products en masse, which is different from what we have seen in Poland. Although this year is characterised by a decrease in investments in the water and sewage business, not only in Poland but also in Ukraine, none of the major pump producers were missing from the exhibitors. This year it took place at the Kiev International Exhibition Centre (IEC). The event saw the arrival of hundreds of national and foreign exhibitors, presenting their latest products, and visitors who wanted to expand their knowledge of new technical and technological solutions. Here are the numbers: 40,964 visitors and 750 exhibitors from 30 countries.
Hydro-Vacuum S.A. presented its range with a stand covering 50 square meters. Our stand presented a wide range of products, from clean water pumps such as: GAB, GBC, GCA deep well pumps, NHV 80, MV 60, DHV, single-stage centrifugal pumps, and ZHA hydrophore sets, to the latest pumps and sewage pumping systems such as: FZ.6 IP68 pump with an internal liquid cooling system (a special exhibit item presented in cross-section), and FZ.9, the largest sewage pump recently produced. The HV stand included our hydrophore sets, LCA and LPA pressure connectors, and PFA pumps.
The following people from our departments made a joint effort to provide service on the stand of Hydro-Vacuum S.A.: Joanna Kamińska, Export Section; Zbigniew Pawłowski, Department of Technical Advisers and Product-Market Strategy; Vitaliy Bachynsky and Sergey Reznik, "TOV" Hydro-Vacuum Ukraine.
The stand was visited both by current and potential HV customers, and by numerous designers. The talks we gave concerned the supply of our new products to this market, under the condition that investment funds can be obtained. A series of meetings were held between the management board of Hydro-Vacuum S.A. and the directors of several major water and sewage businesses in Ukraine. It was interesting to talk about tendencies in Ukraine regarding the implementation of technical solutions on its market, especially those related to sewage pressure pumping systems. Visitors to the stand were particularly interested in our sewage pumps characterised by a particularly high efficiency. We received many questions about sewage pumps whose operational parameters exceeded those currently produced by HV. Such information constitutes a significant basis for the future directions of the company's development.
The participation of Hydro-Vacuum S.A. in this year's edition of the AQUA-THERM Kiev fair can be considered as another spot-on investment in our promotion process. The people who visited our stand were mostly specialists from the water and sewage business in the Ukrainian market and from the former CIS countries. The market in Ukraine is difficult but it also has a perspective of new, large investments as an indispensable part of the macroeconomic plans for Ukraine, a country planning to join the European Union.
We would like to give our warm thanks to those people who came and visited our stands during the WODKAN and AQUA-THERM trade fairs.
