LCS – protection against dry running for hydrophore pumps

In response to the market demand, Hydro-Vaccum S.A. released LCS series pressure connectors intended for securing devices, in particular pumps, against operation at excessively low pressure. Such operation may lead to dry running, and as a consequence damage the pump. Dry running is a very common problem occurring in networks due to excessively low efficiency of a well or a drainage system, failure of a water supply network or freezing of water in a section of a network. Considering the high frequency of this issue, pumps should be secured using LCS type connectors, as the costs of potential failure may be higher than the cost of a protective device.

The principle of operation of LCS pressure connectors is essentially “reverse” to popular and renowned LCA connectors – they deactivate a pump if pressure drops below a set point, thus protecting it against dry running. LCS connectors are typically used in hydrophore systems supplied from open tanks, wells and water supply networks, where protection against drop of pressure in a pipeline is required.

LCS connector is made of high quality materials such as composites or aluminium, ensuring high durability and low failure frequency. The device works with 230 V and 400 V motors (contrary to competitive products), in temperatures from -5oC to +40oC.

Compared to competitive products, they are distinguished by the fact that both construction and production of protection against dry running of LCS are carried out in Poland, in Hydro-Vacuum S.A. factory in Grudziądz, in the same production department where LCS pressure connectors are manufactured.

We encourage you to purchase LCS connector to secure your installations against potential failures.
