Centrifugal FZ pumps

Single-stage FZ type pumps

Type FZ impeller single-stage pumps are used to pump clean and dirty water, municipal and industrial waste, as well as other liquids, depending on corrosion resistance of materials of which the pump is made.

They constitute a highly-unified family of submersible and dry-installed pumps. There are different versions of these pumps, depending on the characteristics of pumped liquids and the type and size of pumped impurities. In particular, they are applied in the pumping of sewage, including sewage with solid and long-fibre content, as well as liquids containing air and gases.

They will work very well in pumping of raw sewage containing active sediment, and putrid sewage.

Drives used in FZ pumps

  • Motors cooled with pumped medium, with IP68
  • Air-cooled motors with IP55
  • IP68 motors with internal cooling system and non-submersible operation capability

Pumps with FZA impellers

The FZA type pump is equipped with a multi-blade one-side open impeller for pumping water, liquid manure solutions, faeces, contaminated liquids, gassing liquids without abrasive precipitations having a diameter larger than 25 mm, and fibrous impurities. There are no internal motor safety devices in the FZA pumps. The drive motor in the FZA pump is "wet" – it is filled with white mineral oil according to the PN-60/M-96105 standard. The pump is only available as FZA.1.

The FZA pumping units may be applied for one of the following or other uses:
  • small intermediate pumping stations for domestic and industrial sewage;
  • in sewage treatment plants, as auxiliary pumping units,
  • horticulture,
  • construction industry,
  • farming,
  • emptying private septic tanks,
  • utilisation of rainwater,
  • water removal from flooded buildings,
  • emptying pools and tanks.

Pumps with FZB impellers

The FZB type pumps are equipped with a closed channel impeller. The pump is used for pumping contaminated liquids with solid and sewage content (e.g. water with sand) and without fibrous substances.

The characteristics of these systems:
  • high efficiency of the hydraulic system;
  • less “free” passage as compared to Vortex systems.
The pumps of this type are used in sewage pumping stations with seperation of solids manufactured by Hydro-Vacuum SA, but they can also be used for pumping other liquds than preliminarily cleaned sewage.

FZB

Pumps with FZC impellers

Type FZC pumps are equipped with two-blade closed impellers and are designed for pumping liquids with a significant content of solids, long-fibre and sludge. The main purpose is to pump raw sewage treated or untreated, activated sludge, septic tank sludge, etc.

The characteristics of this type of system are:
  • large "free" passage through the impeller, preventing clogging of the rotating system, much
  • higher efficiency than pumps with vortex-type systems with similar vortex passage in both systems, resulting in potentially lower motor powers.
FZC pumps can be used interchangeably with Vortex impeller pumps. The front disc in FZC is not adjustable, the impeller at the inlet is sealed on the cylindrical surface and not on the front surface, the running rings are made of ZbCr32, in addition, an undercut is used at the inlet of the impeller to prevent sand from getting between the impeller and the running ring and to prevent blockage of the system.

Pumps with FZE impellers

Type FZE pumps are equipped with multi-blade single-open impellers of the Vortex Special type and are designed for pumping liquids with significant content of solids, long-fibre and sludge. The main purpose is to pump raw sewage treated or untreated, activated sludge, septic tank sludge, etc.

The characteristics of this type of system are:
  • large "free" passage under the impeller, preventing clogging of the rotating system,
  • low sensitivity to clogging of the pump rotating system
FZE type pumps can be used interchangeably with FZC pumps. The efficiency of the systems is lower than that of pumps with two-blade rotors, but this is compensated by the high operating efficiency of pumps installed in wet sewage and rainwater pumping stations.

Pumps with FZF impellers

Unique to the Polish market, FZF pumps combine an enlarged free passage through the pump with a grinding disc, all while maintaining high efficiency.

The characteristics of this type of system are:
  • large "free" passage especially enlarged at the inlet to the impeller,
  • streamlined inlet edge of the blades with low sensitivity to clogging of the pump rotating system.
FZ pumps with single-sided open F-type impellers feature an innovative specially enlarged free passage at the inlet of the vane channel and a spun, center-back and large radius rounded vane inlet edge, which minimize the possibility of retaining fibrous bodies at the impeller inlet.

Made of a hard alloy of high-chromium cast iron, the grind disc with a spherical channel cuts fibrous bodies entering the rotor face slot.

FZF

The flow system of the FZF pumps has been optimized using the latest CFD numerical fluid mechanics methods, enabling the highest efficiencies to be achieved while maintaining a large free passage, allowing wastewater transport costs to be reduced. The cost of repairs has been reduced and the period of high-efficiency operation has been prolonged thanks to the use of a precisely adjustable spreader disc, and the risk of increased vibration over many years of operation has been reduced thanks to the use of a double-channel

The advantages of this type of arrangement are:
  • High-performance flow system optimized using the latest CFD numerical fluid mechanics methods to achieve low energy consumption of wastewater transport.
  • Large free passage additionally enlarged at the impeller inlet
  • Streamlined with a large radius of rounding and a retracted blade inlet edge that draws fibrous bodies into the high-velocity inter-blade space, eliminating the possibility of suspending fibrous bodies at the impeller inlet
  • Adjustable spreader disc made of high hardness high chromium cast iron alloy
  • Spherical grinding channel to ensure self-cleaning of the impeller face gap
  • Precision adjustment screws for simple adjustment of the face gap to maintain low return flow losses in the face gap over a long service life
  • Two blades for low vibration over many years of operation
  • Ability to make the entire flow system from a high-hardness, high-chromium cast iron alloy to extend service life, particularly in sewer networks exposed to undermined amounts of sand.
  • Pumps driven by high-efficiency electric motors, available in fan, submersible and internal cooling system versions.

Pumps with FZP impellers

The FZP type pumps are equipped with a multi-vane closed channel impeller with spatial curvature blades. These pumps are used for pumping clean water, and water contaminated with sand.

The characteristics of these systems:
  • high efficiency of the hydraulic system, higher than in all of the above, up to 84%;
  • lower NPSH as compared to the FZB pumps by using wider inlet and a spatial blade.

FZP

Pumps with FZR, FZX, FZY impellers

The pumps are equipped with a multi-blade single-open impeller. The pumps are equipped with a grinding device that allows pumping liquids contaminated with long-fibered bodies that would cause clogging if conventional hydraulics were used.

FZR pumps do not have built-in motor protection. The drive motor of FZR pumps is a "wet" motor - it is filled with white vaseline oil according to PN-60/M-96105. The pumps are available only as FZR.1.

FZR pumps can be used in:
  • small pumping stations for domestic and industrial wastewater,
  • sewage treatment plants as auxiliary units,
  • horticulture,
  • construction industry,
  • farms,
  • emptying of domestic septic tanks,
  • rainwater management,
  • drainage of flooded objects,
  • emptying of swimming pools or tanks.
FZX pumps can be used in hazardous areas. FZX pumps are equipped with thermal protection of the motor windings and protection against moisture in the motor chamber. Pumps of this type are available only in submersible version. The drive motor of FZX pumps is a "dry" motor. It is only available as FZX.1.

FZY pumps can be used in:
  • domestic sewage pumping stations,
  • pumping stations for domestic and industrial wastewater,
  • pumping sewage from rooms with insufficient ventilation.
FZY pumps are not equipped with thermal protection of the motor windings and protection against moisture in the motor compartment. The FZY pump can be equipped with the same set of sensors as the FZX, but this is above standard equipment. Pumps of this type only come in a submersible version. The drive motor of FZY pumps is a "dry" motor. The pump is only available as FZY.1

FZY pumps can be used in:
  • domestic sewage pumping stations,
  • pumping stations for domestic and industrial wastewater,
  • pumping sewage from rooms with insufficient ventilation.
FZE type pumps can be used interchangeably with FZC pumps. The efficiency of the systems is lower than that of pumps with two-blade rotors, but this is compensated by the high operating efficiency of pumps installed in wet sewage and rainwater pumping stations.

HV centrifugal pumps for seawater pumping

In the case of pumping seawater on ships, or in ports and docks, and pumping liquids with a higher concentration of chlorides, for example, in mines, the FZ type centrifugal pumps for seawater manufactured by Hydro-Vacuum S.A. are widely used.

The solution proposed by Hydro-Vacuum SA is submersible pumps with motor body, top bearing cover and stuffing box bodies, made of B101 bronze. While the hydraulic components of the pump, such as impeller, oil body, discharge body, inlet cover made of ZbCr32. All fasteners of the pump are made of A4 steel.

Motors with IP68 internal cooling system with non-submersible operation

The principle of operation of the internal cooling system:
  • cooling of the engine is carried out through an internal cooling system that receives heat from the engine body and transfers it to the pumped liquid through the wall separating the engine and pump
  • the coolant in the system is a mixture of glycol and water, which makes it capable of operating at low temperatures.
  • the movement of the liquid in the internal system is forced by a low-energy axial impeller
  • the internal system is completely separated from the liquid pumped by the pump, which makes it resistant to overgrowth, as is the case in systems cooled by the pumped medium, e.g.: municipal sewage.
  • There is low pressure in the cooling system, independent of the parameters of the pump, which reduces the risk of leakage of the system.
