Hydro-Vacuum S.A. is more than just pumps.

We are also a manufacturer of advanced automation systems that enable the control and remote management of water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.

Today we would like to tell you about an interesting realization in which we designed and manufactured power supply and control switchgears for two pumping stations being built to discharge rainwater from the site of the existing EC Czechnica CHP plant. The main assumption and implementation challenge of this investment, was the need to ensure mutual, current and stable communication between the pumping stations.

The pumping stations are as far as 800m from each other, so to ensure stable, durable and fast communication we used a fiber optic cable configured in a “ring” type connection, which means, that the fiber optic installation is in the shape of a closed ring. This ensures that any potential damage to one fiber optic line will not cause an interruption in communication between facilities, because a second fiber optic line will continue to operate. In addition, Ethernet switches were used, which allow the configuration of two independent networks in a single device, so as to separate communication between the pumping station network and the master SCADA system.

So, not only do we protect communication from possible mechanical damage, but we further protect internal inter-system communication by isolating it from external systems. The entire system will be able to operate in island mode, i.e. without communication with the master system or in other words - the lack of communication with the master system will not cause the pumping station to stop working. The start-up of each pumping station will be carried out using CP2000 inverters. During the operation of one of the two pumping stations, the pumps will operate at a reduced frequency, while during simultaneous operation of both facilities, each pump will operate at 50Hz frequency.

In order to monitor the pumping station's operating parameters, sizable HMI operator panels with a 15.6-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1920 x 1080px, to ensure full transparency and ease of operation.

We have already completed all design and implementation work, and in the near future the switchgear will go to the to the target customer and will enable intelligent and informed management of two pumping stations at the strategic critical infrastructure facility, which is the Combined Heat and Power Plant in Czechnica.

Thank you for your trust.
